There are many options for accommodation on the Big Island of Hawaii. But first things first. you need to consider location first because the island is so large your choice or accommodation will have a big impact on driving or walking distance to all of the action.

Decide Where You Want to Dive

The best diving on the Big Island of Hawaii is on the Kona Coast on the west side of the Big Island. Kona diving is some of the best diving in the world. While we don’t have the multicolor soft corals found in places like Indonesia we make up for it with eels, octopus, and the highest level of endemic fish found only here in the world. If you decide to dive in Kona we offer daily dive charters from Honokohau Marina. There are several hotels and lots of BnB options within just a few miles of the harbor. If you want to be on or near the ocean the hotels and homes south of Kona are your best bet. If you wish to have ocean views, a better bang for your buck, don’t mind a little drive, and like a cooler climate staying up on the mountain is your best bet. These accommodations are plentiful but we’ve selected the best options available in the area.
